FAQ – Ingredients

Do you use natural ingredients in your products?

Each one of our products contains at least one organic ingredient. If you’d like to learn more, you’ll find further information about product ingredients on our website.

How do you calculate the natural content of a formula?

The natural content of a formula refers to the weight percentage of its natural and naturally derived components. Generally, it is calculated as the sum of the components’ concentration in a formula, multiplied by the corresponding natural indices, which are provided by the suppliers of the ingredients. For example, a vegetable oil has a natural origin index of 1 and a silicone oil a natural origin index of 0.

Why aren’t all your products 100% natural?

Naturalness is part of our DNA. That’s why we aspire to develop products that are 100% natural. At the moment, the percentage of natural ingredients in our products is 98%. It’s a slight discrepancy, but one that helps us offer products that keep and handle really well.

Do your products contain PEGs?

We have committed ourselves to not using PEGs in our newly developed formulas. In addition, we are constantly working to improve the formulas of products that have been on the market for some time – so that these, too, will be PEG-free. The safety of all our formulas and their ingredients are tested by specially trained safety assessors to comply with the EU Cosmetics Directive – and the result is that all of our formulas are 100% safe to use.

Do your products contain phenoxyethanol?

We do not use phenoxyethanol deliberately as a preservative. However, sometimes it can happen that a specific active ingredient has been preserved by phenoxyethanol. In this case, we will always check with our suppliers to see if they can supply the same active ingredient with an alternative preservative. Sometimes, though, this is not possible. For this reason, phenoxyethanol turns up as an ingredient in a particular product every now and then – but this is rare. The safety of all our formulas and their ingredients are tested by specially trained assessors and comply with the EU Cosmetics Directive. Therefore all our formulas are 100% safe for use.

Do your products contain titanium dioxide?

Titanium dioxide is a safe and widely used substance, including in natural cosmetics. The safety of all our formulas and their ingredients are tested by specially trained assessors, and comply with the EU Cosmetics Directive. Therefore, all our formulas are 100% safe for use.
